How do I add sitelink extensions to a campaign?

Sitelink Assets (formerly called Sitelink Extensions) provide users with additional clickable links beneath your main ad text, directing them to specific, valuable pages on your website (e.g., pricing, hours, specific product categories). This makes your ad bigger and significantly improves your ad’s visibility and Click-Through Rate (CTR).

Sitelinks can be added at the Account, Campaign, or Ad Group level. We will focus on the Campaign Level for broad relevance.

Step 1: Navigate to the Assets Section

  1. Log In to your Google Ads account.

  2. In the left-hand navigation menu, click Campaigns > Assets

  3. Click the Assets tab.

  4. Click the blue plus button     and select Sitelink.

Step 2: Choose the Campaign Level

  1. In the ‘Add to’ drop-down menu at the top, select Campaign.

  2. Check the box next to the specific campaign(s) you wish to apply the sitelink assets to.

  3. Click Done.

Step 3: Create New Sitelink Assets

You have the option to use existing assets from your library or create new ones.To create new ones:

  1. Under the ‘Asset’ section, select Create new.

  2. Fill in the required and recommended fields for each sitelink. You need at least two sitelinks for them to be eligible to show, but it is best practice to create 4 to 6.
