Where do I find my Google CID number?

It is important to clarify that there are now two different ID numbers associated with your business. You must ensure you are grabbing the correct one for your specific need.

  • Business Profile ID: This is the new standard ID required by Google Support for appeals, verification issues, or account recovery.
  • CID (Customer ID / Ludocid): This is the legacy ID used for software integrations, creating direct review links, or identifying specific map pins.

1. How to find your “Business Profile ID” (For Support Tickets)

If you are filling out a form for Google Support (e.g., for a suspension), this is the number they want.

  • Search: Go to Google and search for “my business” (ensure you are logged in).
  • Menu: Click the three dots (â‹®) in the top right corner of the management dashboard.
  • Settings: Select Business Profile settings.
  • Advanced: Click Advanced settings.
  • Copy: Your ID is the long string of numbers at the very top.

2. How to find your “Maps CID” (For Software/Links)

This number is hidden in the source code of Google Maps.

  • Open Maps: Go to Google Maps on a desktop computer.
  • Find Business: Search for your business and click on it so the panel opens on the left.
  • View Source: Replace the entire URL in the address bar with view-source: followed by the full URL (e.g., view-source:https://www.google.com/maps/…).
    • Alternative: Right-click anywhere on the white space of the business panel and select “View Page Source”.
  • Search: Press CTRL + F (Windows) or CMD + F (Mac) and search for the text: ludocid
  • The Number: The long string of numbers immediately following ludocid\\u003d is your CID.

Why the Difference Matters

Using the wrong ID can delay your support cases significantly.
