How do I create a Contact Us page for my website?

A Contact Us page should make it easy for visitors to contact your business using the method that suits them. Include the information they need and remove unnecessary steps.

1. Choose the main contact methods

Decide how you want customers to contact you.

Depending on your business, this may include:

  • Phone

  • Email

  • Contact form

  • Physical address

  • Booking system

  • Social media

Only include channels that you actively monitor.

2. Add your essential contact information

Make important details easy to find.

For example:

Phone: +44 20 0000 0000
Email: hello@example.com
Address: 10 Example Street, Manchester

If customers visit your premises, include relevant opening hours and directions.

3. Keep the contact form simple

Only ask for information you actually need to respond to the enquiry.

A basic form might include:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Phone number, if required

  • Message

  • Relevant service or enquiry type

Long forms can create unnecessary friction, particularly on mobile devices.

4. Explain what happens after someone contacts you

Set clear expectations where useful.

For example:

Submit your enquiry and our team will contact you during business hours.

Do not promise a response time unless your business can consistently meet it.

5. Make the page easy to use on mobile

Test the Contact Us page on a phone.

Check that:

  • Phone numbers can be tapped to call.

  • Email addresses are easy to use.

  • Forms are easy to complete.

  • Buttons are large enough to tap.

  • The page does not require unnecessary scrolling or zooming.

6. Protect submitted information

If you collect personal information through a contact form, explain how that information is handled where required.

Use appropriate security measures, including HTTPS, and make sure your website’s privacy information covers the data you collect.

7. Test everything before publishing

Submit the form yourself and check that:

  • The form sends successfully.

  • Messages reach the correct inbox.

  • Confirmation messages work.

  • Required fields work correctly.

  • Phone and email links work.

  • Any automated responses are accurate.
