An appointment booking system allows visitors to check available times and request or book an appointment online. The right setup depends on your business, appointment type and website platform.

1. Choose a booking system
Select a booking service that supports your requirements. Check whether it provides:
Online appointment scheduling
Calendar and availability management
Email or other notifications
Appointment reminders
Cancellation or rescheduling
Integration with your website
Choose a system that fits the type and volume of appointments you handle.
2. Set your availability
Configure the days and times when appointments can be booked. Add the appropriate appointment duration, breaks and any other scheduling rules.
If you offer different services, create separate appointment types where the booking system supports them.
3. Connect your calendar
If the booking service supports calendar integration, connect the appropriate business calendar. This can help keep your availability up to date and reduce the risk of accepting appointments when you are unavailable.
Check exactly how the integration handles existing events and booking updates.
4. Add the booking system to your website
Most booking services provide either an embed code, booking button, or website integration.
If your website builder supports the service directly, use its integration. Otherwise, add the provider’s embed code through an HTML or embed element, following the provider’s instructions.
5. Make the booking process clear
Place the booking option where visitors are likely to need it, such as:
Homepage
Services pages
Contact page
Header or navigation
Dedicated booking page
Use clear wording such as Book an Appointment or Schedule a Consultation.
